What I’m Reading
The Ickabog
“Once Upon a Time. . .”
One thing about having a child is getting to discover a new wealth of wonderful stories. J.K. Rowling’s 2020 book has already charmed me only one paragraph in. From the “line of fair-haired kings” that have led to “King Fred the Fearless” who’d added the “fearless” bit himself due to it sounding good with Fred and because he once managed to kill a wasp with the help of his “five footmen and a boot boy”, I was chuckling.
I can already tell I’m going to enjoy the humor of this piece and my son will love the illustrations done by children all over the world.

Death on the Nile
As with any Kenneth Branagh film, the spectacle is everything.
